Origin

It all began in the late 1800s, with the union of Ovídio Guimarães and Livina Marcondes , in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná.

In 1921 , the Fazendinha property was acquired in Tibagi (PR) , marking the beginning of a deep relationship between the family and the land.

In the mid-1920s, the couple's daughter, Bemvinda Guimarães , affectionately called Doly, married Nilo Gasparetto , a merchant from Caxias do Sul (RS). Nilo traveled the country, from Caxias do Sul to Rio de Janeiro , selling metallurgical goods from the traditional company Eberle .

After living in Rio de Janeiro for some time, Nilo and Doly decided to return to Paraná to be closer to the family businesses established by Ovídio Guimarães. Thus, in 1937 , they acquired their first farm, Fazenda Ponte Alta .

Over time, Nilo Gasparetto expanded the family business, investing in the timber and livestock sectors , always taking care to preserve the native forest , a value that would be perpetuated in subsequent generations.

The Gasparetto family has consolidated and expanded its businesses to Guarapuava, Teixeira Soares, and Curitiba , focusing on good environmental practices and business sustainability.

Among the couple's children, Regina Gasparetto , born in 1940 , stood out as a visionary woman who, inspired by her father's example, broke the mold of her time. She trained as an accounting technician , taking over the financial management of the properties and becoming a female role model at a time when few women had a place in the business world.

During a trip to Rio Grande do Sul for the traditional Grape Festival , Regina met medical student Ivo Carlos Arnt . The encounter turned into a love story at first sight. They married in 1961 , and Regina moved to Porto Alegre , where she awaited the completion of Ivo's medical studies at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) . Shortly afterward, the couple's firstborn son, Ivo Carlos Arnt Filho, was born.

After graduating from college, Ivo began his teaching career at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba. During this period, the couple's daughter, Lúcia Regina Arnt, was born in 1964.

A few years later, Ivo was invited by the World Health Organization (WHO) to specialize in Human Reproduction at the reference center in Montevideo (Uruguay). He became an authority on the subject, contributing with important research and advances, including the development of birth control pills and intrauterine testing of fetuses.

As Nilo Gasparetto aged, Ivo reduced his medical practice, remaining as a professor of gynecology and obstetrics at UFPR, and began to dedicate himself more intensely to the family's rural activities , especially raising beef cattle .

The eldest son, Ivo Arnt Filho , graduated as a veterinarian and inherited the passion for the countryside. From a young age, he accompanied his grandfather Nilo on trips, in the purchase of supplies, and in the selection of animals for the farms.

A visionary like his ancestors, Ivo Filho was the mastermind behind agriculture on family farms , starting rice planting in Tibagi in 1983 , a period when the No-Till Farming technique was beginning to be disseminated by pioneers of the Campos Gerais region, such as Nonô Pereira and Franke Dijkstra .

The lands of Tibagi, initially poor in nutrients, were transformed with plenty of limestone, technique, and persistence , building the fertility that sustains production today. Rice was the first step in this evolution, paving the way for crops such as soybeans, corn, and wheat .

The success of the management and the adoption of sustainable practices yielded surprising results, and the agricultural area, previously less than 10% of the farm, grew continuously, consolidating Ivo Filho as a reference in regional agriculture.

In the early 2000s, programs using biological inputs , such as Trichoderma , began, maintaining the commitment to no-till farming and harmony between man and nature.

In 2009 , he started a sheep farming project for meat production, where he sought industrial crossbreeding focused on the Texel and Ile de France breeds, serving markets in São Paulo, and later becoming a member of the Castrolanda Cooperative's sheep project, where he continues to stand out in state sheep production to this day.

In 2011 , the family succession began, involving Ivo, Regina, Lúcia, and Ivo Filho , ensuring the continuity of the legacy with modernization and purpose.

In the following years, Ivo Filho intensified his focus on market differentiation , producing grains for human consumption . In 2012 , he began the direct export of non-GMO soybeans to Japan , and, with increasing international demands, came the first socio-environmental certifications , confirming the correct direction of his work.

The company has established itself as a supplier of sustainable products , a symbol of innovation and responsibility.

In 2014, seeking to diversify his business, he created Angus RaNa, aiming for a nationwide project focused on genetic improvement of the Black Angus breed, enabling it to adapt to tropical climates and expanding the breed to the central-northern region of Brazil.

In 2018 , a new phase of research and productive integration began, with the Crop-Livestock-Forest Integration (ILPF) fields in partnership with Embrapa and Klabin .

In 2022 , the farm had accumulated several international certifications and maintained export negotiations with global trading companies , serving the most demanding markets in the world .

In the same year, the new family succession began, marking the fifth generation at the helm of the business, with the sons of Ivo Filho and Joelma Henneberg — the materials engineer and postgraduate in agribusiness , Nilo Ricardo Arnt (on the left) and the administrator and master in agribusiness, Rodrigo Ernesto Arnt (on the right).

In 2024 , the farm achieved the highest international sustainability standards , earning RTRS certification , joining regenerative agriculture programs , and becoming Nestlé's first regenerative agriculture model farm in Latin America , supplying grains for the baby food line of the world's largest food company.

Finally, in 2025 , the new brand Origem dos Campos was born, a tribute to the generations that built this history, from Ovídio and Livina in the late 1800s and the more than 100 years of work on the land to the present day — a history of work, innovation and respect for nature.

The future?

To continue producing alongside the environment, doing the right thing with excellence, so that the legacy continues and Origem dos Campos remains among the model farms of sustainable agriculture in Brazil.
